I have been pounding whey protein isolate for about 3 weeks now...and I can definately tell the difference in size.
I have also been eating protein bars from sams (30g of protein) I picked up for like $15.

Had a little "bloating" at first...but body is now adjusted...nothing else.

yes, whey is perfectly fine. It is probably the greatest invention for bodybuilders since weights.

Just try not to depend on strictly whey protein. Get your protein from sources such as chicken breasts, turkey, fish, eggs, etc.

I have lifted seriously for a long time, if u have any questions i will be happy to assist u

this is what i have been doing and love it. In and out of the gym in an hour.

full body ...3x a week

mon: chest :db incline press (2 x 8reps)
back : bb rows (2x8_
tris : close grip bench press (2x8)
bis : standing db curls (2x8)
quads : front squat (2x10)
shoulders : arnold press (2x8)

wed: same
fri : same

eat 6 small meals a day. Depending on ur weight, u need to figure out your maintenance cals, and go from there....adding or subtracting depending if u are trying to bulk or lose weight.

try to get in 1g/protein per lb of bodyweight.....

Seriously, whey protein and a multi vitamin should be the very first thing you do when lifting. Really, their is no debate about it, you need protein bottom line and whey is a great SUPPLEMENT to your normal protein intake

Do you not get bored to death though? If I had a system like this the gym would really annoy me, I mix up my workouts almost every single time (although im hitting 1 muscle group at a time instead of the total body)

what about the other parts of your legs and abs?

I feel that is the problem with most people's routines. They switch it up too often (i.e. changing from session to session). That is a definite no-no in bodybuilding. You MUST stick with someone and see how your body adapts. My full body routine isnt really boring at all,...especially when u are only taking 2 min. rest in between set (go ahead and try it, u wont be bored, trust me on this). With the question regarding other parts of my legs, well, squats hit the entire leg, and im doing squats 3x a week. I believe that is effecient enought to cover my legs. The problem is people want to do little exerices (i.e, wrist curls, cable movements, machines, etc), and dont rely on compound exercises to make them grow.....to each his own....

Correct. And so much better than protien from meat. It's a difference maker.

Some of them are incredibly delecious too. I remember busting ass just to get to that shake.

But, like anything else. Some of them arent good. They either dont mix well or dont taste great. Mixability is very important.

I like Champion Nutrition or GNC, I think those are just fine. Of course there are others that are more expensive. More designer and advanced, in terms of the technology used and how your body will absorb it.

my fav. whey proteins:

1) nectar caribbean cooler
2) substance WPI watermelon
3) ON PB
4) substance WPI grape...

ps. please dont buy from GNC. That company rips more of the american public off they u could imagine. Their prices are absolutely grotesque, and their products are pretty much shit. Only exception is their mega men mulitvitamin.

OPtimum nutrition is the best bang for the buck easily.

Auggiedawg, I've had optimum! You are right that one is very good. Cant believe I forgot about it. Mixes well, tastes awesome 5 pounds for 35$ cant go wrong there.

I only said GNC, because it mixes well and tastes good. Well the chocolate is good anyways. Yeah, I wouldnt do it unless its on sale. It can easily be over priced like you say.

100% Optimum Whey Vanilla is an absolute MUST HAVE.

You can add chocolate or strawberry to it, that's why you should get vanila.

Tastes good, and goes down smooth.

yea, that stuff is the bomb as they say. With my vanilla whey, i make morning shakes, preworkout shakes, postworkout shakes, protein pancakes (damn good), power muffins (holla!), homemade protein bars (can u say cran-raisin bars? yummmmm)

anyway, yes, OPTIMUM NUTRITION is good whey.

This may work for you, but it seems like everybody grows different. I platuea very easily when using the same workouts for a while. When I mix things up I get much better results. Somebody just starting out pprobably has to experiment to see what his body reacts to.
